Pneumatic Actuator
Pneumatic Actuators: Actuators driven by compressed air. There are two main types: diaphragm type and piston-cylinder type. Linear (Gate, diaphragm) type or rotary (ball, butterfly, plug) type valves are used. Pneumatic actuators are preferred in most applications because of their lightweight and durable construction. They are cost-effective and reliable, they can be used in explosive environments and they can be used as fail-safe actuators in case of emergency. The single-acting pneumatic actuator is manufactured in the form of a spring-opening / closing model. This means that the actuator is in the open or closed position unless it is operated. When actuated, these actuators are switched off if they are open and switched on if they are closed. It is the spring inside that makes it return to its original state.
